I show a $400 collection account on my credit report from Unistates CA, LLC. The phone number Experian shows for them only rings to a voice mail. I've done some research, and this company seems to have declared bankruptcy. I've sent a request for proof of charges to the company. I mailed the AG in Texas. I mailed Experian, but they have confirmed the account twice. What am I to do now?
I can't speak to the status, but I will say to never ever never call a CA. Never. CA's will say anything to get you to admit your debt, will record your calls, and usually trace any call coming in. A CA's word is never their bond.
Did you send a DV (like the ones found in here)?

Have you sent a DV letter to this CA? if not, do it now
if yes and they have not validated within 30 days from your letter, I would complain with the BBB and both AGs (your state and the CA's) for the continued reporting without validation
