I'm reaching out to anyone who had luck removing a Verizon Charge Off record.
I've currently paid them off in full but the record remains. I've called multiple times and they always advise they can't do anything about it (which I know is false). Please let me know of any methods used for your success!
Thank you very much
Some have had success writing a goodwill deletion letter request to the office of the CEO, that is what I would do in this case. Welcome to the board!
Thank you for your help! Will try it out.

I am not aware of a provision in the FCRA that would remove the charge off after it is paid - unless you have a prior arrangement (preferably in writing) with the original creditor. Creditors will usually deny removal of charge off requests, citing the requirement to report "accurate" information, even though a lot of them don't.
Usually, a discussion involving removals is centered on collections. As the other contributor suggested, try reaching out to them and ask if they will remove. The odds aren't good, but always worth the try! The good news is that you paid it, and your score will improve over time. Good luck with everything.
They can legally report for 7 years from DOFD. There is no requirement, or provision to delete. They are required to report accurate information... That's it!
While a GW is hit or miss with Verizon, doesn't hurt to try. Just a few minutes of time required!!
I had to wait the full 7 years for my verizon charge off to get deleted. Hope you have better luck.
Yes I have a Charge Off record with balance of 0 from Verizon. I've seen people say that they had some luck after filing complaints to the BBB or other financial oversight companies. Maybe Verzion doesn't want to deal with the bad press or maybe those people just got lucky.
Anyways, I'm going to try and reach out to a few high level executives via email first. Does anyone have any email addresses that worked for them? Thank you
