Verizon Wireless Email to CEO for Collections Success

Backstory:

I switched from Verizon Wireless back in April 2018 because I was deploying and needed a carrier that worked internationally. I was informed to return my iphone X to satisfy my account. I returned the device via the RMA sent and deployed overseas. A year passed recieved notification from Verizon Wireless that I owed a balance for my device not being returned. Called several reps but did not get resolution. The account went to collections and was sold in Sept 2019 to a third party. Because it went to a third party collections, if I paid the debt collector, I would still have the verizon wireless charge off on my account with a balance; the third party never appeared.

Fast forward to a few days ago, I submitted a complaint via this link: https://www.verizon.com/about/our-company/leader/contact/870973.

Approximately 30minutes later, I received a call from a brilliant analyst. He immediately asked a few questions. He then searched for the device and discovered it was in their warehouse which made the collection erroneous. He then submitted a correspondence to their legal team for the next course of action.

I received a call today that the derogatory input will be removed  and the third party will be satisfied. It will take 3-5 business days for action to complete and 30-60 days to fix the credit report error. I am  very thankful for the analyst who assisted me.

Nice. Glad they tracked the phone or it would have been an entire different story. Congrats!
