I recently discovered I had a balance with Verizon for $400 that they've sent to collections, which has ruined my credit score. $200 for erroneous service charge and $200 for unreturned equipment (whoops). I've contacted Verizon and they were able to verify that the $200 for service was inaccurate and they've credited back that amount. Furthermore, I've returned the equipment and received confirmation that they've removed the unreturned equipment charge from my account. so at this point i have no outstanding balance with Verizon, but my credit report still shows i have a delinquent account for $400. what can i do to get this removed?
