What the hell happened :(

Hi,

Can someone tell me, I am just baffled.
I had a Judgment deleted, one paid Collection removed via a GW letter, one paid in full settled with OC from Equifax.
Instead of getting a + alert to my scorewatch, I got a -18 points to it. I am so confused!!

Re: What the hell happened :(

Do you have other negatives remaining? Public records?

Removing a PR and having no other PR probably caused you to be rebucketed. While your score may have dropped, it is a good thing to get out of the "have a PR bucket" and into a new one.

Also, how did your average age change? Oldest account removed?

If I read right, the OC was removed too?

As Sidewinder mentioned, look to see if your avg. history changed at all. If the OC was removed and it is much older than your avg. age, you could have taken a significant score hit.

If not explained already by someone, you could have been rebucketed. Your score consists of several tiers within the score that compares you to other people within that tier. I like to compare it to college. Maybe you had that professor that graded on a scale. If you got the highest grade at 80%, and the professor graded on a scale, then basically you get an "A". Same with rebucketing, you are compared to people who have CAs, if you have them, or compared to those with judgments, if you have them, etc.

If you were rebucketed, you could have suffered a score hit. Some SW alerts will even mention that.

PR = public record (judgment)

Your score is a probability that you will pay your debt.

In order to judge how likely you are to pay, you are compared to others that have similar reports. These groups of ppl with similar reports are referred to as "buckets"

If you have a public records, you'll likely be compared to other people who have public records and ranked against them.

If you have collections or lates, you'll likely be compared to others who have collections/lates.

If you have no negatives, you'll be ranked against others who have no negatives.

Etc, etc.

I don't remember(if I ever knew) how many different buckets there are.

If you had only one pubilc record, then when it was on your report, you were ranked against others who had public records.

You don't have a public record no more, so now you are ranked against a new group of people.

I've never experience this(or not to my knowledge) but I hear it is easy to rebound when you lose points for being rebucketed.

Now, this is just how ** I ** understand buckets.

Ok, I will minutely check my CR from them and see. I hope I rebound back, I have too much at stake.

Sidewinder is likely correct in his assessment of your situation.

The silver lining is that, if you were rebucketed, your score will resume its upward trend, and probably at a higher rate than before.
