It sounds like someone sued you and you didn't show up so a judgement was filed against you.  I'd check with your court clerk's office and find out what's going on.

Re: Whoaa, what is a Civil Judgement?

Okay i just lookd up the county cleark and called and was transfered to a few different places. Im still not even sure who I talked to. But apparently there can be judgements filed on the "state" or "county" levels? The lady at the state level said im good, nothing there. The lady at the county level said im good, nothing there. But said she would transfer me to justice of the peace.

so when I talked to them, she said there was an "eviction" on my credit from Dec 2011. This i know about, sorta. It was actually a broken lease from an apartment that I left. This is on the collections on my credit report Im trying to get off my credit, but i just viewed it as a collection, not a "judgement".  she said only thing she can see is there was a new comment on the judgement today about, mail returned or something (guess they dont have any other address than the apartment that i left)..

so heres my question... the word judgement has me a bit worried. Is this nothing to worry about? is this just a new comment on my collection agency on my credit? or is this something completely different?

Re: Whoaa, what is a Civil Judgement?

It is something different and something to worry about.  Judgments cause all kinds of chaos with your scores and ability to obtain loans/credit.  It sounds like they attempted to serve you to no avail so they were able to get a judgment against you.  You need to get a copy from the people you spoke to of the actual judgment and then contact who got the judgment against you and arrange for payments and for them to vacate the judgment once you have paid them.

Re: Whoaa, what is a Civil Judgement?

ok, i called the collection agency with the apartment lease, and they said all they have is a collection, no judgement

so now im confused. is there someone totally different filing a judgement against me? or is creditkarma site messed up? im not getting an alert from MyFico about this?

if so, who is this filing against me? how can I find out who it is? i dont even know who it is from the credit karma alert?

Re: Whoaa, what is a Civil Judgement?

Okay, I just got off the phone with TU, EX and EQ and all 3 verified there are no judgements or public records for me on any of their accounts.

So apparently this is something with credit karma?? wow that scared me for a while!
