hello and thank you in advance i have charged off amex from 2019 for $2300 .... today received a letter about paying balance in full and receive an optima card.... my question is anyone familiar with or have this card? i read on another thread that someone paid their balance in full and the old amex CO was deleted? or will it be updated as paid in full ?
Probably will be updated as a $0 balance. CO's dont go anywhere. Yes many have recieved the card on here for their second chance back in. You want back in? Go ahead and get it in the past and start over with AMEX.
The Optima program is fairly well known, there are many who've gotten back in with AMEX once they've paid back, but your old account won't be removed as mentioned above
If you search on Optima in this board you'll see numerous recent threads with details from others.
I just went the Optima route and am happy I did. It will not delete the Charge Off but will update as paid in full. 1 day past a year of having the card I was approved for multiple Amex cards. If you are interested in getting back in with them I say go for it.
You should take the "second chance" that is being offered to you by American Express. When I thought that maybe I was on their blacklist, I would have jumped at the chance. (Turns out I wasn't, and I consider it a VERY happy day when I got back in with Amex.)

They used to delete but they stopped at the same time they stopped back-dating. I think the Optima Card is a good offer, but you should ask if they would reinstate your old account before accepting the Optima Card.
