Right, the QS card is one step above the sub prime category.

So here is the situationbe able to get a th

I opened a cap1 sec cc 7 months ago.....had to put $200 down for a $200 limit.......

6 months later the increased the limit to $500,.....

Thoght that was a good sign so i app for the QS1 and the Platinum.....approved for both with 500 limits.....

2nd statement cuts so i ask to pc the platinum to a rewards card......the switch to a regular QS......so i think to myself i outgrew the secured card.......

i cancel the sec card in hopes of getting a third unsecured cap1.......i was denied this morning........i canceled yesterday........

so now i have a QS1 and a QS..... what to do next for a 3rd CC from cap 1??

You won't be able to get a third subprime card from Cap One. They have a section in their disclosures that states you are ineligble if you have two existing Cap One accounts. This limit applies to the Platinum and QS1 cards. You will only be able to get a third account when your scores qualify you for their prime cards, the Venture, VentureOne, and Quicksilver.

To clarify - the limit applies when APPING for the Platinum or QS1 cards. Which existing Cap One cards you have does not matter. There is a glitch which seems to sometimes cause the app system to not "see" the secured card accounts.

I fell into that glitch. I was able to ge the Platinum and QS1 at the same time while having a Secured Platinum. However, after 25 days the PCd my Platinum unsecured to a Quicksilver car.

Again, the TYPE of existing account is not relevant - only what you are applying for matters. If you have two Cap One accounts of ANY KIND, you are not eligible for another subprime card.
