i need some advice..

I finally decided it was ready to face all the bad debt i have and try to fix my score. I started off june with a score of 520. I disputed

some negative accounts and got 2 removed, Causing my score to jump up to 598 transunion and 550 equifax. I also set up a few

payment plans and paid off an old collection account today...

Here is a list of my derg. accounts and what i have setup with them so far..

Chase CC-$1084.00 .7 bi-weekly payments of 70.00 Account will be settled

Bellco CU-$467.00 No payment arrangements yet. Line of credit charged off.

Kay Jewlers-$306.00 No payment arrangements yet. Charged off

CMI-$128.00 Just pay TODAY

Capital one- $1273.00 Monthly paytments of $50.00. Charged off.

I just started the paying back process today.

Im wondering what else i could do to raise my credit score? I was thinking about a secured credit card but there are so many out there, I

need help choosing which one would be the best for my situation.

thanks so much!

Welcome to the forum.  A secured credit card with a major bank or local CU might be your best bet.  beware of high fee CCs and no-name secured and unsecured cards.  if you post more info on your derog information, there are smart poeple here who can help dealing with them.

Just a thought here, and maybe a long shot but it may be worth your while. Maybe instead of getting a secured credit card, you can use that money to call one of the credit companies and ask them if you can pay in exchange for them reopening your card and deleting the negative info. That way you can pay off one of them, and still have an open account to rebuild.

Re: i need some advice..

paying back those companies will not raise your credit scores. try asking them to delete the trade lines in exchange for payment.
