So.. EX, EQ removed a med collection from my credit report, and TU came back verfied.....
I talked to the Collection Agency, which was listed for 2 med collections I had on report...1 was removed, from all 3...And there other was removed on all but TU....The only reason I called because I felt like I was going in circles with these two collection accounts---But during my conversation with a lady who helped me settle the 1 account, they didnt seem to see the other account they are suppose to have for me--- When I first called I got a lady, who seemed like she couldnt pull up my info, she transfered me to another lady...This lady was able to pull me up, but only for the 1 $700 account---I asked about having another account with them and said I couldnt remember if it was with them or not(even though I knew it was)....She said " no there is this account for $700, and another that was removed" which was one I had know idea about, that has never been on my account...My question is, why can they not find my info on file????? I had spoke with the original collectors and there the ones that said I would have to talk with that Collection Agency because that account is being handled by them now...(and she did say that it was only assigned to them not sold)
If the CA sold the account or gave it back to the OC, they can not report and must remove it from your CR.
You should not talk to a CA for any reason. Not even for something like this.
The best thing to do is send them a DV letter. It puts the burden of proof on them. If they can not validate they must remove the account.
As for it being verified, the CRA is more than likely using a computer data base to get their information and not talking directly to the CA. If your information remains in the database, it will continue to come back verified.
