i'm soo excited. i now have hope "hopefully" to better improve my credit scores. june 2007, i had 0 cc, tons of SL, and tons of ca and co's. well, in preperation for a mortgage, i joined cb and myfico, and stayed up all night reading lots and lots of threads. and started dv/pfd/and emailing any and everyone, as well as planetfeedback. i got some results, and got lots to delete, but some remained, but due to my upcoming mortgage, my loan officer told me i had to pay (as much as i didn't want to). i've since decided to wait till the winter to apply for my mortgage, but know that i will be even better prepared.
well, although i had a set back earlier this year, with 3 of my 14 sl reporting lates, this caused my score to drop to the low 400's. even with no cc, and 33 negative accounts (alot i know, lots and lots were innacuate and duplicates) i had a higher score even then.
but, i got a secured cc last sept, and have seen my score steadily rise. and although score wise i'm at around the same score as last year, for cc companies that are willing to do a manual review, i have a leg to stand on atleast, becausethey can atleast see that i don't have any outstanding debts, and have low utilization. i now have a glimmer of hope. i got approved for an unsecured cc (my hooters card) last month, and have since obtained a target card, juniper i-tunes visa, and nfcu mc. and i'm excstatic. i dont feel as hopeless as i didn, when i would look at my credit reports and scores and wonder, with all of the emails, phone calls, letters, disputes, pfds, dv's,over the past year, i dont see any progress. yes, my credit report looks better, but my scores either lower or the same as last year.
i'm still disappointed, but with more positives now, than before, i can only hope that it will get better with time. i screamed when i used the fico score similator, and it said that by paying ontime for the next year-two years, that my fico could be 680-720. i don'tthink i've been in the 600'ssince i was 19. thanks for reading.
This is really good news!! I know recently you were feeling really frustrated. Glad you are hanging in there and moving ahead. The revolving credit will help your scores along. Congrats on all your recent approvals!! Keep working on those baddies and it will truly pay off in the end.
