"OC can instruct the CRA to delete prior derogs without violating the law".

I may have done this wrong.

I have a 30 day late from 9/2005 that I'm trying to get GW'd from my CR's.

It's a Home Depot labeled CC issued by Citibank.  Still open, with a decent LOC.

To whom should I have sent the GW letter?

ETA: I'm not sure which entity would be considered the OC?

Thanks, and Happy Father's Day!

If your letter is for GW deletion, the CRAs are not a party to that.

Your GW letter should go to the address of the billing statement that you went arrears on.  That is who you are dealing directly with, and who is billing you.  They are your OC.

The OC is Citibank.  One 30 day late stops hurting as much after 2 years. Everything ages. So do not get upset if they do not answer your GW or refuse to delete.

Your GW should be sent to the addy listed on your CR.

Whew!  Every now and then I do something right!  I was second guessing myself........

Thanks for the quick replies and now,  I wait....... Smiley Indifferent

ETA:  My biggest problem was EX.  The derog is the ONLY thing showing on my EX report out of a 36 yr / 20 TL history.  I'll wait to see if it gets deleted before I contact them to see where the rest of my TL's are.

Desert Rat,

A 30-day late from four years ago is influencing your score by less than ten points.

If the LOC is still open, I suggest you not hassle the OC, and just drop it,

It is not a biggie worth hassling about.

Is a 120 day late from 2004 hurting my score? If so, by how many points Moderator?

A five year old 120-late is around 15-20 pts
