restricted endorsement

Has anyone used restricted payment endorsement when paying on an agreed settlement with a collection agency? any examples or experiences?

As Mo mentioned, there's some great examples in here somewhere. It is my understanding that some states' laws prohibit this activity. If not prohibited, then sometimes not enforcable. YMMV.
