Just noticed something on transunion report, please explain

Hello everyone,

Just received an updated copy of my transunion report and it says on there:

Special Notes: If any item on your credit report begins with 'MED1', it includes medical information and the data following 'MED1' is not displayed to anyone but you except where permitted by law.

What does this mean?

thanks in advance

The CRAs are required by law to "mask" any "medical information" on your reports when people other than yourself pull your report. The FCRA mandates this and its for your protection.

does that mean the collection accounts are not shown to those viewing my credit?

No, it will still show there is a collection account there - it will just show up under MED01 or whatever.

The collection accounts can be seen by others pulling your reports, but they will not be able to view any information that would indicate the type of treatment you had or who you had with.
