Rec'vd collection letter from National Recovery Agengy on 3/3/09 for wife's medical bill for $329.00. At the time it was not being reported to CRA. Not fully educated on the medical collection process, I sent a PFD on 3/25/09. To date I have not got a response back from CA. CA is now reporting on CRA reports. This bill was for services in 2007 that should of been covered by insurance, but medical provider coded paperwork incorrect and insurance company did not pay. We had medical provider correct paperwork and they resubmitted and we never heard or rec'vd anything on this issue. To our suprise, 2 years later account has been purchased by CA.
I am trying to fix credit quickly, and need to resolve soon. Should I send a PFD again or take other course of action.

Re: Collection Account for XXXXXXXXX
Account #’s: XXXXX & XXXXX
Amount: $329.00
To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is to inform you that the validity of this debt is disputed. For months I have been going back and forth between my insurance company and XXXXXXX. This was all due to incorrect coding on the referral paperwork by my primary physician. When this error was found, I had my primary physician correct paper work and I hand delivered to XXXXXXXX for resubmit. It appears the problem still exist with my insurance paying XXXXXXX because the incorrect codes are still referenced. XXXXXXXX never resubmitted.
In the spirit of compromise, I am willing to pay this account IN FULL (or settlement percentage) if you agree to immediate deletion of this account from any and all credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion). The purpose of this settlement is merely to have this item removed from my credit files. It is not to be construed as an acknowledgment of liability for this debt in any form.
If you agree to the terms and accept this agreement, funds for the settlement amount of three hundred twenty-nine dollars ($329.00) will be sent to National Recovery Agency in exchange for full deletion of ALL references regarding this account from my credit files and full satisfaction of the debt. As funds will be used for payment, there shall be no waiting period regarding the deletion of this account from the credit reporting agencies.
National Recovery Agency agrees to delete ALL information regarding this account from the credit reporting agencies WITHIN TEN CALENDAR (10) DAYS following receipt of payment as specified above and will not discuss the terms of this settlement with anyone, excluding your client on this account. If contacted by any third party, including credit-reporting agencies, Collection Agency will not acknowledge that any settlement offer was made, accepted or executed and will, in fact, deny knowledge of any such account.
If you agree to the above terms, please prepare a letter on your company letterhead clearly agreeing to the same terms as the above settlement offer and have it signed by an authorized representative of National Recovery Agency. It will be implied that this letter shall constitute a legally binding contract, enforceable under the laws of my state.
Your response must be postmarked no later than 15 days from your receipt of this settlement offer or this offer will be withdrawn and I will request full validation of this alleged debt, as provided for by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
I would call the ins.company and find out is the claim was filed and if it was paid.
If they did not receive the good claim then write to the medical provider with all ins. info and ask why they never filed. You want this in writting! If it isn't in writting and mailed CMRRR the provider might say that they never received it.
People have calld the provider with ins.info. and nothing was filed. Because it wasn't in writting the OC said that they were never notified.
