I was with my significant other, the other day and we ended up at the sleep number store. She let us try out their best model, the i10 with all the perks such as the build in massage, the cool and warming feature as well as the ability to control the firm and softness of our bed!!!!! I was absolutely hooked and tried to reason my way into purchasing this bed today! It was already $600 off, she was offering free delivery and I sleep 1/3 of my life away so I must have this bed because it was worth the 10k price tag. I ended up leaving the story, truly upset and sad because I had to think about it. However, because I did leave and had time to think about it, I realize that I didn't absolutely need this bed. Sure, it was amazing and perhaps one day when I have enough money to buy one or justify buying one I will. This just goes to show that it's very tempting to spend money you don't have simply because you can borrow on credit and worry about it later. People also forget that anything in life can happen and because you have a steady job today doesn't mean you'll have one tomorrow. Life is unpredictable and your credit could become a matter of life and death because on the downside of things, they can carry you through the difficult times or on the upside, they can make you wealth beyond your dreams. For this, I think everyone should take thei credit seriously and live within their means.

Hi Hannahj55,
Like you, I was very tempted to make the plunge earlier in the year last year to "purchase" a similar bed on credit. My better half liked the bed, but obviously did not like the price tag at all. In fact she hated it. I told her that with this bed we could both have our own settings, and have it do some amazing things for her and I alike. But, I have not been an impulse type buyer, and although she has always been an impulse buyer, that darn price tag was pretty steep! lol...
Needless to say, we still have not made the purchase, and our lives have continued to move on. BUT, maybe one day. The place we visited did indicate that they have 0% financing available, but unfortunately could not tell us what scores they check or anything like that. So that gave me even more reason to walk away.
Maybe others here on this forum have experience with this type of purchase, and if not paid in full up front could share with us how they handled this type of purchase on credit or whatever.
*Gosh* it was really nice though... hehe...

It was crazy nice! My lower back stopped hurting for a split second when I was on that bed! It was as if I was sleeping on a cloud. Certainly... 10k would be worth it if it made the constant pain go away lol Atlas, I left and was heartbroken but it made me do research on a similar bed when I came home. It even had a king split. I had the same ordeal. They were offering 0% for 36 months... Honestly, if I had an unlimited amount of money, I would splurge on that bed! It was like the iphones of mattress lmfao

Yes, I know exactly what you mean for sure ;-) Sounds exactly like the one my better half and I were looking at. I must admit it felt like heaven! We both agreed it was nice. We have also looked into other beds too by doing research as well. We both toss/turn in our current bed and that one was so much nicer. I think that sleeping like breathing is so much better if you can do it without difficutly. We will get one, but I just don't know when. I think the store here had 0% for 5 years if memory serves me correctly.
I brought a 4k Tempupedic bed around 8 years ago and it is worth very penny. A good bed is worth it for sleep, health, and anything else you have a mind for.

Good Morning marty56,
Thanks in advance for your comments ;-)
If you don't mind me asking, how did you fund the purchase? - Cash, credit card, credit extended via the store, etc? And if by credit extended via the score, do you recall the terms?
It was Matress Firm card of 4 years no interest. You can find that deal in most of the bed stors that sell it. Don't remember who the underwriter of the card was. I'm going to guss it was GE credit but really not sure.

Thanks for that info marty56,
I am certainly interested in 0% deals - especially if I can swing the payments and terms. We have a mattress firm where I live and they have a similiar sign up in their window. For whatever reason a lot of places that sell beds are popping up all over the place. *Wow*
