Anyone else heard of/use OpenTable.com?

Stumbled across this website a little while ago. Looks to be a company that sells computer systems to restaurants that allow the easy booking, tracking and servicing of restaurant reservations.

I've started using it whenever I go out now because you get points for every reservation you make and keep and can redeem the points for certificates that can be treated like cash (Can be used towards the meal, alcoholic beverages, tip, anything) at any restaurant that uses the service (There are a lot in the DC area).

I've found that about 80% of the restaurants I eat at use OpenTable.com, so in just one year I've already racked up $80.00 in dining cash.

Has anyone else seen or heard of OpenTable or been using it at all?

I've used it a few times. It's sort of an e-vite for dinner reservations. I don't eat out often enough to bother about the points (although if I'm paying, I use my Chase Visa to get 1% cash rebate!).

I've used it infrequently for the past couple years. I'd use it more if my family situation didn't require restaurants that offered coloring books and easy-to-mop floors. It's quite handy, though.

I hear ya on that one - I'm all excited to go out to eat tonight after DD's basketball game - and we're going to Crispers (sandwich/salad place). Hey, any night I don't have to cook is a bonus in my book. Smiley Happy

I have used the service several times. I often have to entertain customers and find it very handy. I've noticed that I can get decent reservations in Vegas through them when I can't get anything directly. Delmonico's for an example.

It's classy to send evites to customers, they seem to enjoy knowing when and where you plan to feed them.

I've used it as well, and I find it very convenient. I guess I need to start using it more often to reap the rewards, though!

In NoVa there are a bunch of 1000 point reservations at some restaurants. Basically they're on Mondays and Tuesdays at 5:00 or 6:00 when business is slow.

Since 1 point = $0.01, that's $10.00 per reservation.

I've gone to this Thai place with $11.00 entrees 8 times over the past few months. By December I should have about $150.00, so when I go to New York for Christmas I can go to Bobby Flay's restaurant and pig out with the, meal, drinks, tax, tip, all covered!

The name sounded vaguely familiar, so I just did a search on my Gmail to see if I might have registered at some point... and ahh yes, I used that site to book a table for the not-quite-husband-yet-at-the-time-of-booking when we went out for dinner after we got married! Not been back on the site since, though... I might just have to check it out again one of these days! Smiley Very Happy

I use it.  It's easy and convenient.  Never any problems and the points are great.  Once, my mother changed her mind about what time she wants to eat 3 times on the day of the reservation and dinner went off without a hitch.

I think they're great!
