Interesting. I owed this year (due to unusually high cap gains) and mailed in a check in May thinking they'd be super slow about it so that money could earn lolinterest while it sat waiting for them.
They cashed it in less than a week.
Yep they cashed my $251 check in exactly 7 days.

Do you do it by mail and also request a check by mail? I use Turbo Tax and have been submitting my federal electronically the last few years and I have them direct deposit the refunds into my checking account. I feel it only took about 2 weeks to get the refund from when I did it in February. Our joint filing is simple, though, and nothing complicated. The stimulus deposits always came on the day that they were announced to be starting. Even my $300 direct-deposited yesterday right away.
