As a mod, I haven't seen any issues. I do think that the time reported at last login is Pacific time zone as their computers are based in California.
Ooops....botched a good example... In short, you are seeing Cali's time for time last visited.

My last log in was 1/15 during the early evening. Today, it said 1/16. It doesn't make sense to me.

Which time zone are you in?
I'm in Central time Zone. 2 hours of ahead of Western. and 1 hour ahead of Mountain. My last log in was around 4:00pm Central on 1/15. Before I logged in, it showed my last log in was around 12:30pm 1/16. I had not logged in before that time. Anyway, I changed my password although my laptop is always with me.
This fits...
On my screen, your first post of this thread was created on:
"01-16-2010 03:51 PM"
It should show as 2:51PM on yours (I'm in Eastern and you are Central). Your post was created at 12:51 PM FICO time (Pacific/Western). Your last login should show a date and time of your login from today and that shows as a Pacific/Western time. You said that you logged in at 2:30 Central time. Clicking on your profile, your last login would show 12:30 PM. So, I'd surmise that you logged in, and waited 20 or so minutes before starting this thread. Am I on target?
Edited to clarify....your last login wasn't yesterday it was today.

My last post yesterday according to my tracker was 01-15-2010 06:37 PM. That was around the time I turned off my computer.
I first logged in and post this thread at 01-16-2010 02:51 PM
Before I logged in at 2:51 for the first time today, I checked my profile and it showed I had already logged in on 1-16-2010. The time was around 12:30pm.
If you log off now and log in tomorrow, when you log in tomorrow, the date last visited would be tomorrow, not today. In other words, if you log in now and immediately go to see when you last logged in, it would show a last login time and date at the time you checked it (which is now if you logged in now).
The last login date and time is the last time you logged in, which in the org. post, was moments before you posted that thread...because you had to login to post that thread.
The time you show posted was 2:51 Central. The 2 hr difference was the result of the 2 hr time zone differential. The balance of 21 minutes was the time differential between the time you logged in and the time this thread started.
