You could crack the egg before boiling them. Yes you heard correctly. By tapping on the raw egg gently enough to hear tap tap tap, not yet, a bit harder... tap tap toop, stop. That's all you need to hear. That puts a stress crack in to the shell, probably can't even see it but you will hear it. Then just pop the egg in water, boil for 30-45 minutes and when it's done, the eggs de-shell them selves. Eggs in tack on the bottom and shells flating on top.
Neat huh?
Tap tap tap, nope
Tap tap toop, yup
Tap tap crack, scrambled eggs.
The best crack is the one you can't even see. Just makes a toop sound. This way the egg still boils inside the shell until last minute when it expands enough and pushes the shell off.

Very neat. And I think you've invented a new word ('toop') while you were at it. ![]()
What? Are you saying that you tried it scapegrace?

Nope. Not yet, anyway.
I just meant that it sounded neat.
But my calendar's pretty wide open tomorrow. May give it a go for a laugh and the heck of it, in the morning.

Darn. Sooooo, the toop is supposed to keep the shell intact and the shape of the egg will remain intact as well? Then, the shell easily comes off after boiling--is that the purpose/idea?
Idea was to have the shells pop off during cooking and leave the egg fully intact. So in the end you won't have to peal them. ![]()
Oh, I see. Did your latest toop work? I know how painstaking peeling eggs can be.
