At other times, my login session times out, but I'm still able to post and comment to posts though the site indicates that I have the option to Log In.
^agreed
In the past a member could stay online indefinitely. No auto logout due to inactivity. As a result posts and minutes online could increase substantially without any (or minimal) rise in login count.

@Thomas_Thumb wrote:Best I can tell the rankings are primarily based on # posts and minutes on-line. You need a certain minimum posts and minutes on-line to get to the next level. Others posters have presented data indicating # of sign-ins may be a factor as well. Kudos is not a factor nor is time since 1st sign-in.
A breakdown of minimum posts (and minutes on-line) for each rank is shown below. Not much data on sign-ins.

My signins and minutes online are enough for the next level, except that darn post count!
Fyi - posts on smorgasboard are not included in your post count.
I can confirm that log ins kept my rank back because I would post a lot but stay logged in for hours.
I also skipped from Mega to Legendary though, which makes me wonder if the higher tiers aren't fully automatic but must be activated by the powers that be. 🤷
@Thomas_Thumb - good point. Perhaps they'll update the infrastructure to resolve this. I learned there are two places to log in and out when on the forums. The less prominent button seems to be tied to the login counter.

I'm always looking to improve (where possible) on even better constructive content trying to one up my own contributions on myself in spite of congrats.
I would say "sorry for the bump," but since it's a sticky, I figured it would be acceptable. I find myself already identifying with this @CreditMagic7 . I have been noticing that I have been a bit heavy on the "congrats" lately, but I am doing it genuinely, and I also try to make material, substantive contributions, as well. I'm going through the same thing you stated here.

Y'all post what you want, when you want and be true to yourself. Nothing wrong with congratulating those that have shared their good news. It's worse to hear "crickets" when you're posting a milestone....so Rock On and keep the positivity flowing folks.
I would not worry about potential backlash because you think you're making too many followup congratulations posts when someone is reporting good news, much like nobody should feel like their good news would be seen as being too trivial to share here. Spending a few minutes browsing around the Approvals section of the forum should help convince members of my point ;-)
If there were a concern I'd expect that someone would reach out to you.

Thanks for that. It helps that that's the way some other members look at it. It was just a thought that had crossed my mind. It does, somehow, feel easier posting in SmorgasBoard, since I know the posts don't count towards overall post count. That said, I do see the merit in people receiving congratulations on any accomplishment, no matter how small, as I know that can really be a motivating factor for some.

Thanks for that reassurance. Valid point.
