Obviously from my username that I'm a mailman in California. All last week and yesterday I have been delivering higher than usual CapOne cards (I can feel the envelopes to know what's inside after 20 years of delivering LOL).
I noticed I have been delivering alot of AmEx's Blue, Barlcay 2X Rewards and some Chase pre-offers on my route.
If you guys or gals have any questions about how often I deliver what (in regards to credit cards) I can answer...what I will NOT answer my customer's info, specific location such as street names, etc. LOL!
Oh yeah...come January I'll be delivering 16 to 24 oz credit card statements
I worked at a print & mail company for many years... I know exactly what you mean by getting to know what was inside an envelope without seeing it! I used to be able to tell whether an envelope was under 1, 2 or 3 oz with about a 95% accuracy, too. lol
I couldn't imagine making so many purchases in one month on one card that I had more than two statement pages!
I'd be tempted to go for another Cap1 card since they seem to be sending a bunch out, except I promised myself I would garden. That, and I had to force a manual review for my last CLI. Not worth the hassle when I have enough to keep track of as it is!
Total Cards: 24 | Total Limit: $304,250
Current FICO 8 Scores: EQ: 841| TU: 815 | EX: 814
Hard Inquiries: 1
I thought cards typically came in an unmarked envelope (meaning while one could probably feel a card in the envelope, the exact issuer is a mystery without opening it)? At least my CSP replacement did, anyway.
Can you deliver in other parts of the country? We need a responsible mailman like you.

I'm thinking the increase in Cap1 cards is because of the new chip cards being sent out -- I got 2 this week. So it may not reflect an increase in new credit accounts... just new cards.
Cap 1 doesn't make any attempt to hide their credit card mailers. I think they figure the process you have to use to activate the card makes it secure enough.

Back in the day (90s) when Amex still did 'country-club billing' for their charge cards (with the squares on each page, some with actual receipt copies) I can remember having bills so lengthy they would come in a letter-size envelope (8.5 x 11). It was too many pages to even fold.
Talk about killing some trees!
That's awesome. Very funny post.
