I had been using Progressive for two years, and then at the renewal they decided to double my home owners! The car insurance went slighly down, but I couldn't understand the home owners going up that much. I called them to give them a chance to explain, and they couldn't. I went with Geico as well and saved a bit on car and over 50% for the house. I was with Allstate for 20 years before that, and they played the game of going up here and there. I've decided to check rates every two years at least now.

I used to have Progressive. They were the cheapest until I found Esurance. They've been great and cost WAY less than anyone else for me.

That's what I did last year
Good riddance and all
I think I was with progressive for over 10 years. Half the rate with Geico after the switch. Flo can kick rocks!
I had progressive for a lot of years and then they kept inching north, when I called for an explanation I was told that there had been some car thefts and/or break-ins about 3-5 blocks from me and that I needed to pay extra for their shortcomings. Not today! I switched my insurance immediately. And to make it really bad, I am out of that age margin. I should be paying less.
Every insurance company does this. I switched to progressive last year and got a much better rate. I will continue shopping rates and switch every time I can save money.

Yes they told me nsurance rates have increased in VA and yada yada. Last renewal prior to this they claimed the same thing and mentioned my credit score which I politely told them was higher than before, they matched what I was offered so I stayed.
This time didn't budge so I switched. And yes I will continue to do so to get the best rate .

Our insurance rates (Allianz via a local agency) have been pretty flat for the last 4-5 years, so there's a few companies out there not jacking up rates every year.
Progressive and Mercury won't touch me because I got busted for driving without a license 20 years ago. Allstate wanted way too much. Geico has been great. Constantly lowering my rate. Even with the new car. After a year, it dropped almost 20% and it's still going down. Must have passed an insurance threshold. 🤔 Anyways, me and the gecko are boys, now.
