Re: Let’s Give proper Acknowledgement to the SockDrawer Cards

My sock drawer cards are both Cap one which are my oldest and get a charge every few months.

Boscovs, Overstock and Sportsmans guide. All had via the shopping cart trick when I first got into credit. Overstock has since been canceled by creditor for non use. Boscovs gets a small charge just to keep the $29,900.00 line alive. Sportsmans guide never gets used. Small limit no worries.

Citibank and WF. Both picked up just because I was bored...

Apple card, I regret getting this one. Seemed like a good idea at the time... Don't really use this one and honestly don't care if it's canceled

Capital One Quicksilver -

1.5% card isn't every useful when even my 2% cards aren't seeing much love lately. I sometimes get a decent deal with a specific online merchant, but nothing exciting. 7% back at JCPenney for example, so I can use my sock drawer card to buy some socks and underwear.

PenFed Gold -

No rewards. No nuttin. My monthly MyFICO membership gets charged to that and I pay it as soon as it posts and forget about it for another month.

Honorable mention: Eddie Bauer, Cabela's, Kay Jewelers. These three are marginally useful.

But those are my five oldest cards. The newest one is three years older than my next oldest. Closing them would be a serious hit on my AAoA.

EQ8 787, TU8 750, EX8 767 as of July 12
AZE9 - 8% Utl - New Cards: 1/6, 2/12, 5/24

Ahhhhh good Ol' Boscov's.  I haven't been to that store in years.  We had one In Pennsylvania.
I too don't do much with my Apple Card either but I'm about to put it and my Chase Freedom unlimited back in the rotation.

For now, my PenFed gets some spend but it's truly a lack luster card.

Re: Let’s Give proper Acknowledgement to the SockDrawer Cards

My Cap1 QS is redundant now since I have a 2% card but I have a $5 cb credit on it that I want to use somehow...we'll see. Discover usually stays in the drawer (attached to Paypal, which I only use sparingly) but I'll be using it again for groceries the 1st quarter of 2023, followed by my Amex BCP which just capped out for the 6% cashback mid December. It's a good combo for me. A couple cards are just attached to certain online activities (Amazon, Doordash) but stay in the drawer, and my JCPenny card gets used once a year to keep it alive since it's my oldest (42yr) card.
