Hey guys,
Wanted to start a list of the biggest CLI's, my goal is once people submit their answers I can edit the post to have a leader board. The top 10-20 biggest CLi's (along with which issuer gave said increase) ever seen on this forum. No real reason for it, more just a fun and interesting topic.
couple things,
I think we should focus on the percentage of the CLI, not the dollar amount. If you can remember the issuer that gave you that increase that's even better. As that's an important data point to consider. If I had to guess I think we will see the largest increases from Amex or discover.
post away!
I got $5000 --- > $23,000 ($18,000) ---> 460%
Daughter $2,000 ----> $20,000 ($18000) ---> 1000%
Wescom CU

To correct your math:
CLI (Credt Limit INCREASE) in each case was noted as $18,000. 18,000 is 360% of 5,000 and 900% of 2,000.

You are correct.
I was looking at the final credit line.
360% and 900% increase

Apparently not, Westcom CU 900% far excceeds Amex usual 200%! (My daughter did get an auto 700% from Amex though).
The issue with dealing with % is that it "rewards" institutions that give small SLs. So $500 to $5K is great for the user, but if you are looking for "large limits" one that gives $5K straight away and then gives you a $3K CLI might be better. And the perceived thing about Amex is that you can, sometimes, get a series of 3x CLI, whereas some places may give you a huge (percent) CLI, but just once.
