Whose to say collecting credit cards ISN'T a hobby?
Who says that collecting stamps, painting, or sewing is a "better" hobby than collecting credit cards? ![]()
I have like 95 store/credit cards now...some are prettier than others. The Disney and Ritz cards stand out because they're unique

Metal cards don't make your limit go higher. They really aren't that big of a deal
Exactly. I just don't get the fascination. Are they cool? Yes. Are they worth acting like they're some kind of priceless jewelery? No.
I know...people act they are an Iphone or something lol. I don't have an Iphone btw, a lot people just act the same way over the thing.

Right. WHile I think worrying about anything other than the reward structure of a card is stupid/wrong/pointless, as someone who posts in a cc forum, I would hestiate to suggest that others need to get a hobby. To the vast majority, spending any time thinking about credit cards is pretty odd, joining and participating in such forums is just plain weird and clear indication of needing a hobby, if not intervention!
Congratz on your Metal Venture. I was one of the first on the forums to get a Metal VentureOne, no one believed me either.... ![]()
There is nothing wrong with wanting a metal card. Its something new and most don't have one. Trial run or not, good luck getting one.
There hasn't been one time that I have used it that I haven't gotten a comment on it.

It's fine if someone wants one, but going the EO route for a metal card is pretty ridiculous and one of the reasons why the EO is becoming harder and harder to contact. Despite our mentality, we are a mere tiny percentage of cardholders no more special than anyone else. Just because we have a phone number/email doesn't mean we should use it for every tiny thing we want.

Im sure KDM wasn't referring to you, just the mere mortals who also post!
I got my 2nd Venture last week. It was plastic just like my first. I got a fradulent charge on my first Venture a few days ago and they are sending me out a new card. Two bites at the apple ![]()
Actually, I like the design of the Venture just fine. What I really like is the $30k limit on my new Venture. I'd atually prefer to get a metal Quicksilver card if they decide to do that at some point. A nice matte silver/grey finish would make that card live up to its name.

Does the "get a hobby" phrase ever help anyone, ever? I mean, what the hell is someone supposed to do? Go outside and start collecting rocks? There's nothing wrong with collecting credit cards. Some people just don't care about this score invented by Mr. Goldstein to get you to behave like a robot.

I agree nothing wrong with an interest in credit cards/rewards/whatever.
However some people do take it too far, into an obsession or addiction and then yes it is a problem and they should find something else to do. There are a few on here who need a break for sure.
