I am in the middle of a refi and approved for all I asked, however the broker did question why only 1 TL on EX since the others had 19-20. Prior to this I had NEVER personally checked my credit scores, and only been turned down once. (Sears, 1966) I immediately went to ACR.com, got the reports and scores, went thru them with a fine tooth comb.
1 baddie, 30 day on HD/ Citi (ok, it's mine, 4 yrs old next month, turned down for GW, guess I'll have to live with it) Not bad for 39 year history though.
Mystery???: Citi Bank, CL 9600, closed by grantor? No derogs, -0- balance, paid as agreed? I've NEVER used a Citi card! And just to prove it (to myself) I went back through all of my records looking for a statement/payment/anything. Nothing, and my records go back for years!
I retired a couple of years ago under not so good circumstances.... medical. A really good friend packed up my office for me and delivered it to the home we had just remodeled and all was parked in the garage. Since I was in no condition and had no desire to do anything with it, it sat for a couple years and gathered dust. Last week, I couldn't stand looking at that crap stacked up, sent DH shopping for cabinets and have been busy getting stuff in order. (I hope I live long enough! lol) I can't believe some of the personal stuff I found in those boxes! I was practically living at the office during that period of time. Good thing I worked with honest people, and my office was locked up!
Having gone thru most of it, today, I found an unopened envelope dated 08/27/99 from CitiBank. Inside were 2 bright, shiny Platinum cards complete with stickers just waiting to be activated! Unfortunately, they expired 09/00. ![]()
I don't remember applying or receiving..... but can still honestly say: "I NEVER used a Citi Card! Mystery Solved!
