Google has added "Gemini" the "AI" to the right-click context menu.
But there's a way to turn it off.
Go to chrome://flags (type it into the address bar and hit enter) and search for glic and then set it to "Disabled"
They called it glic, no doubt, so that people who searched the Flags wouldn't figure it out as there's no reference to Gemini at all.
Then click "restart" to restart Chrome, or in the case of the Chromebook, this will reboot the computer.
DuckDuckGo says that since Google forced "AI answers" into the first page of Google results, search traffic on DuckDuckGo is up 17%.
Why anybody continues to use Chrome is beyond me. Brave has the majority of the benefits of Chrome seeing how it uses the same engine with none of the downsides and added ad/tracking blocks. Google is quickly shifting from being an ad company to being an AI company and AI companies need all the data they can get so Google is hoovering up everything it can from its users.

Agreed. Brave doesn't collect everybit of information on your. If you use chrome that is on you and you wonder how all you information is harvested etc![]()
I don't use Chrome. Unfortunately Google has all my health metrics from purchasing Fitbit.
P.S. Just after writing the above I checked my email. A message from Google Health with the subject "Your weekly progress report summary". I wonder who else pays for access to my info. It sure seems like my TV ads are being targeted based on my Google/Fitbit profile.
I opened google wallet the other day in store and had an odd pop-up show on screen. After leaving, I reopened to see what it was all about. They were asking permission to use my purchase history to offer targeted ads across my devices. Things that make life easier are often not to our sole benefit.
NFCU OG Flagship (Daily Driver) | USAA Rewards (1999 Hooptie)
AmEx BCP (Groceries) | Aven Rewards (Groceries) | Chase Prime (Amazon) | Citi Custom Cash (Dining) | Elan MCP (Utilities)
EX(F8) 780 | EQ(F8) 802 | TU(F8) 796 | EQ(BC8) 810 | EX(10T) 782

Google wallet works out well for me because I have so many credit cards for the rewards optimization that I don't like to figure out where they all are in my wallet.
For people with no more than 4-5 debit and credit cards, Google Wallet doesn't make much sense. Once you have more than 10, that's a different story.

Seems complicated. All I did was right click on top of it and select 'unpin'.
