Ritz Carlton Rewards - new card

Received an email from Chase on the 17th stating "the all metal card" was coming back. The email literally says "all metal" and I've spoken to a chase rep who confirmed the new card is supposed to have no plastic at all like the original ritz carlton card. However, all reports I've seen on reddit and other forums are showing that the new card is still a hybrid card, but a little heavier than the current one.

Has anyone on this forum actually received the true real new card and can you confirm the composition?

Chase bringing back the Ritz-Carlton metal card

Just got an email this morning that Chase is bringing back the ritz Carlton metal card back. People should start getting their replacements sometimes this month.

Wonder if this has any hint of them opening applications again. At the least, it hints they arent doing away with it all together soon.

Re: Chase bringing back the Ritz-Carlton metal card

Is it the original metal one like the JPMorgan Reserve card or the one that is more comparable to the Sapphire Reserve?

Re: Chase bringing back the Ritz-Carlton metal card

I still have not received mine, but it looks like it is similar in weight to the Amex Plat (17g) not the original full metal at 28 grams from what I see on Reddit.  That is better than the current version at 13g, but I was hoping for the full metal one again.

Re: Chase bringing back the Ritz-Carlton metal card

Well... I got the new card yesterday and it is not the original full metal version. It weighs 17 grams according and my scale which is more than the version it replaced (13 grams) but not the same as the original at 28 grams. It is similar to the us bank altitude reserve or the Amex plat. It definitely doesn't have that metal sound when you drop it.  It is nicer than the version it replaced, but I was really hoping it would be like the original.

FYI, it came in a plain white envelope from Ohio sent via regular mail.

Re: Ritz Carlton Rewards - new card

Update:

I received my new card today. 100% has plastic in it and feels like the same card, just a little heavier, due to the metal core being a little thicker. I called Chase and they said the card is absolutely supposed to be ALL metal, no plastic. They feel like the wrong card is being sent out.... and the biggest reason for this is because the Visa Infinite logo is supposed to be on the front bottom-right, where as it's on the back bottom-right on the cards that were sent out. I even did the drop test with the CSR on the phone and let him hear my OG metal card drop on a counter vs the one I received today, and he agreed something isn't right. He stated their internal documentation shows that the Visa Infinite logo should be on the bottom right of the front of the card.

They are issuing a replacement for me and have notated my account as such. I would recommend for anyone who has the new card to call Chase using the number on the back of your card and complain that the card you received is not 100% all metal, and most importantly, that the Visa Infinite logo is not on the front, it's on the back. Hopefully if enough people complain, they may do right and send out the OG.
