I have a potential funding source for my business request that I give them my log-in and password for my myfico.com so that they can access my account and check my credit score and history with no fees. They also say that the reason for this is that there will be no new inquiries to my credit report, so as to not lower my score.
I have never had anyone or any business ask me for log-in and password to access myfico.com before and it seems kind of suspicious to me. The person/company making the request seems to be very professional and knowledgeable about the industry, but I'm not comfortable giving out this sensitive information. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing they can share with me. Any information and details would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Whoa, I'd rather get an inquiry any day than give this info away!
And if they're so accomodating, they can let you pull your own report and immediately provide them a copy. If you're able to meet with them in person, they could watch you (without seeing your log-in info) so that they'd know it was current and not tampered with.
Thanks for the reply and advice about this situation. I agree that I should not give out my log-in and password information, but I was also very curious if anyone else has come across this kind of thing. Thanks again!
I've been on these forums for 3 years and haven't come across anything like that.
Thanks for your reply. I'm wondering if they are attempting to pull a scam or some kind?

Whether it's a scam or not I wouldn't give that kind of information to anyone except my wife.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802
EQ - 7/06-663, 3/10-800
TU - 8/10-772
You can do the same thing with hard work

Yup, the same here.
Thanks for the reply and advice. I'm not so sure about even giving this information to my wife [ha-ha-ha].
Hi Asahi,
Do not under any circumstances give them access to your myFICO account!
In addition to the potential for fraud, accounts being accessed by third parties in this way is not permitted under the myFICO Terms of Service.
Would you mind sending me a private message with the name and contact information for this company? Thanks for letting us know about this very dangerous practice of theirs.

Hi Barry,
I will not give them or anyone else access to my myfico.com account. I will consider sending you their contact information, but would like to know what you plan on doing with it. Please give me your private email address or contact information.
Thank you
