Hello all. I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed on Tuesday. They weren't bothering me, but no dentist would touch them. I got a special referal to the oral surgeon and my very own operating room for a day
The recovery is going better than I was anticipating, but geez I'm sick of soup. How long until you were able to eat completely normally again?
Yikers - OUCH. I got mine dug out back in high school and I don't remember how long. The worst part is the disgusting holes that your tongue just can't seem to leave alone! And smoking is a no no due to the "dry socket" or what I call "Hot pocket". You can get that from sucking a straw, too, so don't do do that! The' hot pocket' hurt worse than the extraction for me.
I think it was maybe 3 or 4 days for me, but that was (ahem) 35 years ago. I do remember being grossed out by the stitches. You just don't want to get any food trapped in there.
And +1 about no straws. Too easy to accidentally jab one of the sites. ![]()
I'm definitely being cautious about avoiding hot pockets lol. The good thing is that I haven't had any desire to smoke since the operation, Now everybody gets to eat Snickers and crunchy tacos and think of me!
Heatherbee that's funny - Good Luck - get something deliciously soft like ice cream.
My recovery was worst than most and took about 2 weeks total. But that was because of a reaction to the medication.
I didn't eat much soup at all though. Mostly mashed potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes. And mashed popsicles. My mom did a lot of mashing during those two weeks! lol
