So maybe when I get bored with MF, I'll go read the reviews on CK. Might be good entertainment.

You should, some of them are quite funny!

Side note, yeah I'm a sad panda about the Poss April CoBrand chase going on 24 month lockdown. Yes, I do think apps will go down dramatically, but not enough to break em. Things I wish I could see:
1.financials of AmEx now they lost a couple big partners
2. Financials from putting cobranded on lockdown from Chase. Anything saved? Gained?
IM SO CURIOUS. It would help kill the time in my 24 month pause. ![]()
i want to know WHYYYYYYYY.

I will go back on there tomorrow and look up some of yours. While not all of the reviews on there are bad I believe there are people that use CK and truly believe that if it says their odds of getting approved are good or very good then that means that they will get approved. I want to sit ther and tell these people that CK is just guessing and not very well at that. Ehh, what can you do.
In regards to your Ames statement, yes I believe that their financials will take a hit but not as bad as some people might think. They seem to be one of the lenders that the majority of people want to get in with. With that and the fact that they own their cc processing, their financials will still be good. The people that would have gone out and applied for one of their co-branded cards will now just go apply for another one of their cards. I see the hit lasting for maybe a couple of years but not much longer.
With Chase, I am not sure. I can understand the 5/24 rule and it's Chase, don't really understand the way they do stuff sometimes. Then again there was a number of people applying for more cards just to move limits around, and some people did it multiple times per year.

I love CK reviews. Findng good reviews is like a treasure hunt for a pristine sapling among a horde of ravenous beavers - dangerous, but rewarding.
I'm actually pretty surprised when I get a decent approval. If I were an underwriter reviewing someone with my profile, I decline them with a hearty chuckle.
And Bu Yao, I'm definitely going to track down your reviews... And then give them a thumbs down!
What makes you say "I'm actually pretty surprised when I get a decent approval. If I were an underwriter reviewing someone with my profile, I decline them with a hearty chuckle."?

From 2011ish - I have about 80 lates from my student loans (2 accounts per semester, combined with a miscommunication about deferment status,- and I think almost all of them are 120-day lates), 3-4 Collections (depending on report) that were only paid/settled in mid-June 2015, and a couple of charge offs. Also, in the last year (since February 14th, 2015) I've opened 34 new cards for about 52000 in SLs, closed 15 of them (store and secured cards), and am up to 96000 in credit limits with CLI's (including subtracting out the closed cards).
Don't get me wrong, I'm super-appreciative of the creditors willing to give me cards, I just find it surprising that rebuilding has been this "easy." If I had to guess, I think I'm getting a lot of "benefit of the doubt" from having a really strong AAoA - still over 4 years, even with all the new accounts - and from paying/settling the old debts.
Finally, I'm blacklisted from CreditOne. I find this absolutely hilarious. I did burn them on during my last rebuild that I was in the middle of when 2011 went to crap for me.
