Coworker of mine used to work in WAMU IT. She said they are spiraling down and plan to layoff almost everyone in IT over the next year or so. Severance packages sound pretty good. But, ya gotta stay to get paid.
Some have been told "we'll pay you but you don't need to come in to work". If I knew the size of my severance, I suppose that would be OK. I could stay at home and train up for something new. Uncertainty would be my fear factor. Jes tell me when the axe hits my neck and how much I get.
This Thanksgiving, I'm happy to have a job through at least August and happy I ain't at WAMU, or GM, or a myriad of other places.
