Well, the tectonic plates shifted underground, of course!

Correction: We felt the D.C. quake way up here in the upper midwest. <grumbling about local news stories accidentally printing the wrong info while trying to be the 1st to report the news>.
Felt it here in Connecticut, too!
I was in the bathroom washing my hands. I felt wobbly, and at first, I thought it was me with a problem. Then I noticed the hand towel flopping back and forth on its rack on the wall...
Looked out of the windows for any signs of a mushroom cloud (my 60's indoctrination, I guess). I was at least thirty feet from my desk (you know, the one to duck and cover under), so I guess I'd be toast had there been that cloud.
Just an earthquake, though. No worries.
Right? Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?
Felt here in Fairfax, VA (next to DC). Was on these forums (of course) and had a slight difficulty typing. I'm on the third floor of the office and ran into the steal-encased staircase and huddled because there was a 15 ft wall of glass on the opposite side. I made a decision to bolt out at the end and hung out outside. The phones didn't work initially but work now. The cell lines were jammed too due to all of us calling everyone.
There were some personal items that broke, but none were a super big deal. Good times!
ETA...I had Facebook friends who reported the quake right away in Boston and Virginia Beach. Some reported it in Toronto, Chicago, Atlanta...Mars?
Welcome to my world, everyone! That's what it is like living here in Los Angeles. ![]()
That was a tiny one, we have them a lot stronger in So Cal. ![]()

HAHAHA, that's great!

I don't know how you and your family will ever be able to recover from such trauma. I'll be thinking of all of you as you struggle to rebuild your lives.
