I'm genuinely curious to find out why the majority of people are here. I'm here to find out about credit cards I don't have yet, and it helps me determine when might be the best time to get those credit cards I want. My list is very short, I have two cards left that I can truly say I want enough to apply. Once I get those cards, my future here is undetermined, although still using the My Fico monitoring that I pay $30 for (sounds like a lot, but you get what you pay for).
So, how about it?
I originally came on myFICO to boost my score. Since I've done that, now I use it for info on cards and bonuses.
Aww baller, I wanted to give you a kudo, and then remembered we can't do that here in Smorgasboard.

Myfico has literally changed my life. I initially used it for credit repair. Then once I started cleaning things up, I began to use it to find out about great cards and CUs. Would have never even known about Navy Federal had it not been for myfico. Every card I have obtained is because of this forum.
What baller said...
I think many of us came here to accomplish a goal, whatever that goal may have been. Or there could have been multiple goals to reach. Some of us have reached them, some of us continue to reach for them. Some of us are satisfied with where we are and no longer are trying to achieve goals but to maintain what we have. AND to also offer some advice, from prior mistakes and learning experiences that we've come across.
For me, it's been a long journey from the 500s to where I am today. Creditwise, I'm happy with where I am. Could it be better? Yeah, probably. But where I am is a far cry better than in the past, the not so distant past. So....I've got all the toys I need, I can just enjoy the sandbox now!
Score improvement, as I have done, and continue to do. My credit got trashed back in 2007, when I couldn't find a job. The only thing left is a couple of 5 year old medical collections, then I'll be squeaky clean and pushing 750.
1. to learn from others, advice and experience of others is invaluable
2. to observe processes such as apping for mortgage that I plan to do
3. to share my experiences with others in case others find it helpful
and that completes the circle.
