Re: Why are you on MYFICO?

I'm genuinely curious to find out why the majority of people are here.  I'm here to find out about credit cards I don't have yet, and it helps me determine when might be the best time to get those credit cards I want.  My list is very short, I have two cards left that I can truly say I want enough to apply.  Once I get those cards, my future here is undetermined, although still using the My Fico monitoring that I pay $30 for (sounds like a lot, but you get what you pay for).

So, how about it?

Initially, it was to learn and do everything possible while I improved my score prior to applying for a new mortgage. The most important lesson I learned was what not to do (i.e. have multiple cards report a balance).

It was eye opening learning how taking advantage of all those 0% interest rate offer, from your current credit cards, can affect you. In addition, I understood overall utilization, but was unaware that per card utilization was an issue.

Now I'm addicted to the site and constantly help others in the family to better their situation prior to applying for anything.
