AES and Credit Reporting

Hello,

Does anyone know when AES would report adverse credit report action?  I logged in today to pay my student loan (which is 29 days past).  Since it's the weekend it won't post until Monday, which could put at 30 adys.  I had thought I heard that AES doesn't report until 60 days late.  I just want to be sure about this.  The lapse came because my deferral was up and I didn't realize (thought it was this month).  I'm sure i can work it out with them on Monday, but just looking for peace of mind.

Re: AES and Credit Reporting

I'm not sure, but I'd call today. My guess is that they won't report it as 30-days late, since the payment will go through on day 30 - but I'd call to make sure.

Re: AES and Credit Reporting

I did call them and I don’t think it will be an issue.  They also said that they don’t report negative information until after 60 days.  I made the payment so I’m not worried, but I’m curious.  Is it 60 days past due (60 days after the initial due date) or 60 days after your statement?  So if this payment I had was a 29 days past due on Saturday, does that really mean it was 59 days past due?
