Collection after SOL expires

Hello. I don't post much here, but I've learned quite a bit. I received a collection notice, today, from Williams & Fudge. They are trying to collect on a couple of private student loans that fell off my report nearly a year ago and passed SOL nearly 2 years ago.

I'm just wondering how I should respond to this. Should I DV? Or should I just bring up the SOL and tell them to FOAD?

Any help would be appreciated. I can post in more detail if it would help. Thanks.

Re: Collection after SOL expires

I would ask this question over in Rebuilding Your Credit.  Private loans are very similar to other types of installment debt in cases like yours, so they could best advise about how to handle the collection notice.  Do remember that just because the loans are outside the SOL does not mean you cannot be sued - it means you have a valid defense against the lawsuit.  You still have to show up in court to present it.
