Hi everyone,
new to the boards..I got my free fico a few weeks back and it was good, 745 (i'm 28 years old), but it stated I had recently closed a card, which is true, and i had a consumer finance account.
I think the Consumer finance account is a citiassist loan i've had since college...its not a ton of money, and its currently in deferrment as i'm back in school for my masters. I have enough saved up to pay it off in one swing if thats what it will take.... any advice?? Also, i'm looking to get a good credit monitoring type account since i'm hoping to buy my first house within a year...which do you recommend??
Thanks!
Welcome to the forums!
The CFL could be something else too, like CitiFinancial, WellsFargo Financial, a loan for a furniture store, payday loan, etc. (not saying your CFL isn't your Citi acct though). Whether closed or open, the CFL remark will stay there up to the point the associated TL disappears.
We used to recommend TrueCredit up to the point they changed to monthly only pulls. I used creditchecktotal and have been happy with it.
thanks for the welcome..
the citiassist loan is from Citi bank, so i'd assume thats from CitiFinancial???
SO basically you are saying that paying them off, may do me no good??
