Does anyone have any DPs as it relates to the Fresh Start Initiative?
DOE - EX and EQ are now out of default, waiting on TU (surprisingly).
FLS (fed loan servicing) - still appear derogatory on EQ and TU.
DOE does not even see FLS listed as previous servicer and getting intouch with FLS is impossible now.
I just really thought both negative accounts would be removed, and thats not the case.

it seems to really be based on the servicer and on a case by case basis how they change the TL's
all they 'have' to do is put the TL into good standing and remove any collection/default language, all of the lates can stay
if fedloan doesn't exist anymore, I wonder if any disputes on those tradelines will be redirected to the DoE, the new servicer or if they will just go unanswered

The phone number listed is no longer in service but they do list a mailing address, but I feel like they wont repsond anyways.
I did get some decent help from AIDvantage and they said that if I submit a dispute to them, they will dispute on behalf of me. So I am going to give that a try. After a long back and forth with TU, they submitted a dispute for both accounts saying they should be updated. So we'll see. Regardless DOE and FLS are due to come off TU in Aug and Sept, so not much of a wait there.

I'm in the same boat. I disputed online earlier in the year (a bit of a mistake on my part) and FedLoan validated within a day or two.
After doing a bit of reading, it seems the way to go with these old FedLoan accounts is to do a 623 dispute. I'm preparing to do disputes by mail this week and if that doesn't work, I'll do the 623 letters.
It's interesting, though, that AidVantage said they would contact FedLoan to dispute. I definitely would like to know how that works out.

Learned something new with the 623 dispute, thanks. But i think Im going to try this route next. FLS used to operate under PHEAA so im going to email them and see why it also was not removed or brought out of default when DOE was. Here is the email if youd like to try as well
