So I'm thinking of going back to school to get my Bachelor's degree (FINALLY).....I submitted the online FAFSA and received the SAR...the EFC is 8504. I'm waiting to hear from the school's financial aid office. But in plain English, what does this EFC mean?
It's been a long time, but doesn't EFC mean expected family contribution? This is the annual amount that you'd have to pay out-of-pocket, with loans or other sources of aid making up the rest.
