I am preparing to app for a mortgagee and looking to get a few things straightened out if I can. I have a paid off loan with Edfinancial that currently shows only 1 90day late on my report. It doesn't show any 30day or 60 day codes prior to that. I paid this loan off 3 years ago and I wondering if it is worth trying to get this goodwilled. Is is normal for a late payment to report this way? Shouldn't there have been 30/60 days lates reported before this? Is a dispute worth it? I don't want them to correct this to add the 30/60 days lates if its correct. Its been so long i can't remember. I am trying to gain a few points to get to a 720 mortgage score. I appreciate everyone's help.
How long ago was the 90 day late?
As far as I know, federal student loan servicers don't report 30 or 60 day lates. They didn't report 30/60 day lates for me. They start reporting when you're 90 days late.
Aww, that makes sense they don't report the 30/60 day lates. The 90 day late is from Feb/March 2018. I paid the loan off December 2018.
I guess the only thing you can do is ask for a goodwill deletion of the 90-day late. Perhaps, too, "time" might increase your mortgage score at the 5-year mark. Is this your only derogatory?
If you have lots of utilization (balances) on your credit cards, you could increase your score by paying down on them. Ideally, you want to have below 9% utilization over all, and especially below 3% utilization.
