General Revenue Corp.

Anyone ever heard of them?  They claim that a bill from school is educational and therefore can't be discharged in BK, but I thought that was only student loans.  This is an actual bill from the school according to them, I have been unsuccessful in getting any info from the OC.  I never took out any loans with the school, all my loans were consolidated well before my BK filing.  Are they just trying to get a quick payment from me?  I'm in the process of cleaning my CR in prep for homebuying and although this is scheduled to fall off in 12/09 on EQ and 1/10 on TU my FICO is taking a huge hit and making me ineligible for a particular loan program I'm trying to take advantage of.  Anyone have any dealings with this CA?

Re: General Revenue Corp.

I'm currently dealing with them for a Perkins Loan I got during college. It was originally for $1,500 through the University, but now that it went to them to collections and fees it's up to $2,200. I've started paying them back $200 a month starting yesterday since I have no other choice. In your situation it could have possibly been a loan that got missed during consolidation. I've heard of that happening before. Smiley Sad

GRC didn't put any negative tradelines on my report, but my University put one on my EX report stating that it's a collection account. Not sure how or if I can get that removed... Smiley Sad
