Hi All,
My defaulted Stafford loan from 2009 no longer shows on any of my CRs so, to find the balance due, I searched my loan on NSLDS. It shows that after my prior years' tax offsets, the outstanding principal on my loan is $1008 plus $257 in interest.
After a recent move, I received a letter in the mail from Alltran, who owns my debt, and it shows the balance due as $1008 in principal and $570 in interest/fees. They say I have 30 days to dispute but I don't know what the course of action is here.
Any advice? I want to rehab or PIF but I want to make sure I ultimately pay the correct amount.
