We filed CH13 4 1/2 years ago and were discharged 60 days ago.
Navient put a mark on my file a few weeks ago called - Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Petition - for 1500 bucks (the balance).
Funny thing is I logged in a few days prior (i knew it still had to be paid as it was not discharged, only put on hold) to verify teh address on file so i caould pay on time.
I even made an 80 dollar payment before this (after official discharge).
Why did they wait til DISCHARGE to put this on my file and not 4 1/2 years ago when we filed?
Now when i log in to the site ( to amke a payment) it shows I have no loan with them...
???
What can i do about this, it dropped it 34 points!
EDIT - I gave them a call, and they said it was discharged and a zero balance.
EDIT - I thought this couldnt be dischaged (it was a private student loan)?
Some private student loans will immediately default if the lender finds that you've filed bankruptcy, I wonder if that's what happened here? Not sure why it took them so long to figure it out or take action though.
Have you spoken with your bankruptcy attorney? They can help you understand exactly what was included in your bankruptcy. Because debt is repaid in Chapter 13, it may be possible to include student loan debt as long as it's paid, I'm not sure. Your attorney should have the most detail about your specific situation.
My Attorney moved out of state a year ago.
Before leaving he filed all the final paperwork with the courts so all we had to do was wait for the final discharge papers when we were finished with our payment plan.
I know payments were made to Navient durign the CH13, but the remaininfg 1500 dolalr balance must of been discharged at the end...?
