Not exactly students loans, but sort of....

Hi all,

So, three or four years ago, I was a student at Walden University.  I had to take a remedial writing class (depsite having a master's degree) in addition to my "regular" class.  If I failed the writing class, I couldn't proceed with my program, so I put everything into that class, despite the fact that it wasn't for any credit.  I decided to let the one for credit go to the way side.....  then I decided not to pursue the program.... so then the "good folks" at financial aid withdrew their funding for that quarter and now I owe Walden $3175.

I didn't have, and don't have, that kind of money.  I am in a better position to pay it, however.  Maybe with payments.... or if I could get a settlement.... or I could put the balance on a credit card....

So, it is in collections now with Cedar Financial, and I'm wondering what would be the best way to approach this situation? Any suggestions are most appreciated!  Thank you.

~Erin
