@Anonymous- paying off the loan would not cause your age of accounts to drop, accounts generally stay on your credit report for up to 10 years after they were closed. Was this drop FICO or a site like CreditKarma/Wallethub/nerdwallet? What scoring algorithm do they use?
Some of the 'fluff' sites that peddle vantage score only use open accounts when giving metrics, but you can ignore those.
