I have considered the loan from a family or friend, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards for me : / I will research into Direct Loans. I am planning on sending them a check with a little bit of money, but not entirely sure how long I can keep the payments going. Well, I appreciate the feedback so far, and as for right now I guess it's a matter of finding the money.
Hi,
Well, I am a somewhat recent college graduate and I owe $42,000 for my SL's.
Because it is almost impossible for me to find a decent paying job I have had to put my SL in deferment. I didn't want to go the deferment route because I've had quite a bit of interest building which tacked on another $2,000. But, I am thankful for the deferment because there is NO WAY I can pay on my SL right now.
Also, I am starting grad school in the Fall of this year so they will just stay in deferment until I graduate with my master's.
I have four lenders and they have been incredibly helpful and have worked with me. I have found out, if you stay in touch with them on what's going on they will work with you.
