Student Loan Rehab Completion Timeline

I see all kinds of questions about the timeline after rehab is complete and I thought I would add my experience. I was rehabbing 2 SL that were with Coast Professional. I completed my last payment on 12/31/2020.

I checked and called obsessively, because I was also in the middle of a mortgage and had to be out of CAIVRS prior to 2/11 closing. Week after week nothing happened. I was told weekly that they update on Saturdays and when my loan was picked up I would be out of CAIVRS.

Finally, on 1/30/2021, I came off the CAIVRS system and myeddebt.edu showed zero balance. I want to add that coincidentally, I paid 20 days in advance, so in essence, they waited until after my due date to make any movement on my loans. That is just an FYI for everyone to pay attention to if you are frustrated waiting for them to do something. I talked to my cousin who also rehabbed his student loans and they didn't get sent to a servicer either until his due date passed. He also paid 20 days prior to his due date.

As of today 2/1/2021, nothing has changed on my credit, my loans have been moved to Navient as of 1/30/2021, and Coast Professional can still see them in their system. Coast Professional told me that when they no longer can get access to see my balance (which they confirmed is zero on the collections side) that I should see a credit change.

I will update if there was a score change and what that change was as soon as it happens.

Currently I am:

EQ: 641

EX: 661

TU: 662

Started in June of 2020 rehabbing my credit and started with scores in the low 500s. You can find my journey that I need to update on another thread. This is my last negative, so I am hoping for a jump.

*Update* My credit repair journey I posted on my old account. I will get it moved to this account and post it when my new scores post. It is very helpful as far as all my collections, who they were with, and the steps I took to go from 18 collections to zero.

2/3/21 - Experian removed rehabilitated loans - 44pt increase. Note: I did a dispute with Experian and Transunion on 2/1 to see if it would speed up the removals. I did not mess with EQ, because they seem to screw everything up when you do a dispute (at least that is my experience). Transunion still pending.

EQ: 641

EX: 705

TU: 662

The largest increase I saw was my Fico 2 that went from 622 to 697 and my Auto Score 8 from 588 to 678.

Just received notification and checked online to confirm that EQ just updated. 49pt increase.

EQ: 690

EX: 705

TU: 662 (hopefully since the other two updated, TU will be right behind them).

It looks like the dispute may have just been a coincidence, because I did not dispute EQ and it updated.
