So my loan is out of rehab. FH Cann had been sending me the monthly notices that the amount would be deducted from my account. Great, no problem. When they sent me the paperwork transferring to ACS they sent it to my father's house for some reason. I contacted them and the rep told me to e-mail them the correct address, which I did.
First mistake was contacting the CA. Since the loan had been transfered to ACS, you should have contacted them.
My payment with them was always on the 15th of the month. When July 15th came and went without anything I emailed the rep at FH Cann asking what was going on. He emailed me back that I would hear from ACS within 30 days - this was July 22 (I still have the email).
Once your rehab funds, your loan changes hands so payment date will probably change.
Today, being nervous about what was going on, I called ACS and when they found my account they told me a payment had been due on 7/14. I asked why I had never received anything from them and she told me the address they had on file is my father's. When I got home I set up an online payment immediately (unfortunately it was after 5PM so it is getting posted on Monday).
Did you move at some point and not notify your guarantor or the CA?
My question is - will this get reported as a 'late', or because it's only 2 weeks will I be OK. And if it's reported late will my emails with FH Cann help me dispute it? I'm just getting back on track and don't want to screw up right from the start.
You wont be reported late. However, it is your responsibilty to notify the holder of the loan of your current mailing address, not a third party like a CA or even postal forwarding. In this case, notifying a third party would not work if you were in fact more than 30 days late.
